Global warming, Stillplayswcars? We have "the biggest expert" in it, Mr. President Klaus... You have several of them, too, though... Al Gore, and this hollywood actor, sorry I forgot his name...

Do you thing that Texas was influenced by weather and world climate changes last years more then before? Is it visible in day-to-day life of ordinary people?

alexxandra — 10. 8. 2007 11:37

Hello everybody, welcome Stillplayswcars! You came here with such difficult topics :-) Unfortunatelly I´m not really interested in politics nor global warming these days hihihi - as I have small baby I have much more "interesting things" on my mind (e.g.: how does the doggy bark? or what is doing cow - boooo! and do you wanna do poo poo; or come and have a mouthfull :-) Are you native American?? Do you wanna learn Czech? :-)

Thanks Juraj for your reminding me of this topic :-))

Juraj — 10. 8. 2007 11:58

Misha — 11. 8. 2007 10:48

Hello Becci, thank you for your report about my child Verunka. She will be 2 year old at november. Now she has period realize individuality and it's more exacting period for me. But she is very good girl and I'm proud of her.

How old are you? And have you child or children? We will like know about you :D

Alex thanks you, my trips in UK was been mostly working but next month I'm going to traveling there about the sights and mainly practise english speaking. I was make out I didn't understand anything and anybody in UK :( :( :( only prepositions and interjection. This is no good :(

Juraj — 13. 8. 2007 14:26

That's good start Misha as for your English.... First 20 years with your English is the most toughest period - afterwards it is definitely easier... ;-) But I understand you, so your are pretty good... "-)

As for Becci, I think we have to show her how to write messages directly to all of us publically... I think she has been writing them to our private emails only... Am I right, Becci?

And Misha, if you want to practice your English even more, just set also at your NASTAVENI [see here http://fora.babinet.cz/viewtopic.php?pid=778701#p778701 ] ENGLISH LANGUAGE ;-)

Juraj — 13. 8. 2007 14:46

And this is, what Becci wanted to write down t oall of us, but she sent just to my private post... So I share with all of you, who are interested in it...

My comment to her post is, that really when I was there down in Texas couple yeaRS AGO, there was always practically each day in summer temperture over 100 degrees... [That is well over 30 degrees].

Just this year we have had more rain in July than in all of last year.  We have not officially had a  100 degree day yet and it is August.  Although it is good on the electric bill and the lawns are so green. . . the crops were late planting it was hard to get in (harvest)the hay. Airlines had the most flight delays last month since they have been keeping records. South Texas and New Orleans have still not recovered from the hurricanes in 2004.
What a long way to say YES it is affecting our everyday life.  People are starting tho think they have to change personally not just let the government "clean up"  the planet.
Thanks for reponding to my post.

Hi, Fantasia... Welcome aboard... How it is in Taiwan? What is the life there? Do you have any Chinese friends there? I am not sure I would be able to live in place like this, in completely different culture...

Fantasia — 16. 8. 2007 16:18

Hi, Juraj I thank for your welcome. I know only Taipei, where I am living with my husbend. We both are working there at Czech Office. We came there from five month. I don´t have Chinese friends because Chinese people speak English just a little.  I speak Czech at work I need not speak English. It´s a problem for me.  It´s all right that is very different culture and for us is it very difficult. ***Fantasia***

Hello Olympia! Welcome among us!
Can you please tell us a little bit about you?

sunyata — 18. 8. 2007 20:11

Fantasia napsal(a):

Fantasia, I am just the opposite. I haven't had a meaningful conversation using Czech language in 4 years. I bet I would sound very clumsy probably. How long have you been in Taipei?

stillplayswcars — 19. 8. 2007 4:23

Fantasia
I am so jealous you can even think about different languages.  In America we are spoiled to thinking we only need to speak English.  I am really enjoying getting to hear about how other ladies are managing in other parts of the world.  What kind of work do you have?
Becci

stillplayswcars — 19. 8. 2007 4:26

Misha
Are you still here?  How was your week?  Are you in London or CR? Do you have more pictures?
Becci

alexxandra — 20. 8. 2007 22:53

I have got 2 messages - one is for Juraj: Dear Juraj we both with Misha appologize but we are very busy this week so we will have a call next week and will inform you when we could come to visit you! Hope you won´t mind I´m expecting my sister´s family on Wednesday and they´ll stay until the end of the week probably.

Another is for Stillplayswcars: Dear Becci, I spoke to Misha today and she appologizes for being busy. She will contact you as soon as possible! She also would be glad if you maybe write here to this phorum not only the private messages because another people won´t have the right informations about your person :-) We all will discuss with you with pleasure here!

stillplayswcars — 21. 8. 2007 2:56

Not a problem I understand how busy life can be with work a baby an "home work" (shopping , cleaning and being a mom).  I want to get to know all of you before school starts for me.  When it is time for work and school I will be the one saying ahhhhhhhhhhhh I am so busy!!
soon
Becci

alexxandra — 21. 8. 2007 9:05

Becci, I think that we have finaly found how to handle the baby and the home stuff but Misha is working besides her home duties (she might have informed you already :-) ) and I have this month family visits, first it was partner´s family and now starts my family - as I mentioned tomorrow my sister´s coming along and afterwards is my mom with my younger sister on the list :-) Yesterday I was on farewell party of the curent ambassador (as I work at the Embassy of Finland here in Czech) and soon will be welcoming party for new ambassador - so at least I had a contact with colleagues :-) And I found out that my spoken English is pretty poor! I´m so confused of it. So I will have to find some time for conversation with all of you here! Becci I admire you for studying - when I finnished my secondary school and people around me went to study universities I was so disgusted of it, so I rather went to England (London) as an aupair to improove my horrible English and to find great experiences. And I must say it was my bestest decision I´ve ever made. I spent there almost year and a half. But these days as I´m full job mum, cleaning lady and housewife I´m really interested in some nophysical activity :-) So you can inform us how the studying goes from time to time :-)

stillplayswcars — 21. 8. 2007 12:18

Alexxander
How far does your family have to travel to visit you?  Your work sounds very interesting.  I studied political science at university but now I am studying business.  I should finish in May then I am going to study dispute resolution (I think).  Enjoy your family visits and I will learn more about you soon.
Becci

Juraj — 21. 8. 2007 17:37

Thank you Alexxandra for your message for me... :-) No problem, when you two and your kids have time, then you come... Babinet's office is still there, next week ;-)

Juraj — 21. 8. 2007 17:39

How is with your US friends, Stillplayswcars, can we expect them here for conversation, too?

I am sure, Czech ladies would be glad to chat with them, too, am I right, ladies?

alexxandra — 21. 8. 2007 19:33

Juraj, of course!!! We will be very glad to have some quality English conversation :-)) I´ve got terrible headache today, I should go to sleep though. Take care, I´ll be back probably tomorrow :-)

stillplayswcars — 22. 8. 2007 3:19

Alexxander
I am sorry for your headache.  I hope you are better.
